Garden steward Alejandra Delfín did exceptional work caring for the Hunts Point garden. Delfín led a fantastic volunteer team and created partnerships with the Graham Windham organization, bringing us ninety children this year. Delfin also partnered with the St. Ignatius school; the school’s teenagers came to the garden to volunteer in exchange for the school’s credits. The teens loved it so much that the school wanted their students to join the GKL program in 2023. One of Alejandra’s wins this year was creating a donation program for families; hundreds of community members visited the garden, and Ms. Delfin donated over 1000 meals!
Hunts Point is our largest site, and it has the potential to host additional programs. Stay tuned for what we have planned this year!
